Construction as Usual

This week work continues on the exterior with the brick work continuing around the top floor. Work also continues on the roof trim. This week’s pictures also show work beginning on the main windows on the east side of the building and on installation of windows on the west side of the building facing the courtyard connecting to Ruffner. Not visible in the pictures is the drywall work which is now in full swing on all floors.

One Floor To Go!

This week the brick work moves to the last floor. The first photo shows Bavaro Hall looking from north. You can see the brick work appoaching the last floor as well as the continuing work on the roof trim, which is highlighted in the second photo. The last two photos show Bavaro Hall looking from the south and the west. Work continues inside on the rough-ins and on installing dry wall on the ground floor.

Bavaro Hall Construction 62% Complete

This month’s construction report indicates that Bavaro Hall is now 62% complete. The exterior brick work has made great gains this past week with work on the east side now beginning on the fourth floor. Work on the exterior also continues on the roof trim details and on framing the large window openings. Internal work continues on framing, utility rough-ins, and in some areas work as begun on installing the drywall.

A Peek Inside Bavaro Hall

This week I have posted a few pictures of the inside of Bavaro Hall provided by the Curry School’s Foundation photographer. I have also included the traditional views of the outside of the building from the north, east, and south. These pictures show that a lot of progress was made this past week on the exterior brick work.

The Bricks Keep On Climbing

This week’s pictures show that work continues on the brick exterior work. The first picture shows the view of Bavaro Hall looking from the north. The next picture shows a close-up of the brick work on the ground and first floors. The third picture shows the east side of Bavaro and the last picture shows the view from the south. Work on the rough-ins continues on the interior.

Construction on Schedule

Work continues this week on the rough-ins on the interior and on the brick work on the outside. The building is almost weathered in now that most of the windows have been installed. Soon work will begin on installing the interior walls. Work also continues on the roof trim around the top of the building.

Bonnycastle Drive Reduced to One Lane

This week between September 22nd and September 25th barricades will be installed and Bonnycastle Drive will be reduced to one lane of traffic. During this time, utility connections will be made. Access will still be maintained to the R-1 parking lot. Meanwhile, construction continues on schedule with electrical and plumbing rough-ins being performed on the inside and brickwork and work on the roof trim continuing on the outside.

Roof Work Nearing Completion

Bavaro Hall is now 57% complete. This past week the night work on the roof was completed. Work continues on the exterior brick work with the first layer of cast stone and granite being installed this week. Work also continues on water proofing, window installation, and on the interior framing, duct work and electrical rough-ins.

Outside Work Continues

It is all quiet on the Bavaro site in this week’s pictures because they were taken on Labor Day. Work continues this week on the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC duct work on the interior. On the outside work continues on the brick work, framing the windows and doors, and on the roof system.

Bavaro Almost Dried-In

This week work continues on the roof construction, window installation, weather proofing, and exterior masonry work. When the roof is finished and the windows are installed, the building is considered “Dried-In” and work can begin on installing the drywall on the interior. Work is also continuing on the mechanical duct work and the electrical rough-ins.
