Calculating Impact Factors for Journals

• Good idea to report in one's annual report the impact factor for journals in which one has published.
• Journal impact factor calculated based on three-year period.
• An impact factor is viewed as an approximation of the average number of citations in a year given to those papers in a journal that were published during the two preceding years.
