Connecting to CurryDisk Using the Home Directory Web Interface

ITC provides a Web-based interface to allow connection to one’s Home Directory file space. If you don’t wish to bother with the installation of the UVa-Anywhere VPN client or your installation of that client just won’t work; using the Web-based login interface provides you with a viable connection alternative to access CurryDisk from off-grounds.

To access the Web interface, go to https://gwis.virginia.edu/homedir/ to read about requirements. Assuming you already have established that you do have a Home Directory account (see link for this), the only thing you may have to do to be able to use the Web interface is download and install a Java component. When you first log into your Home Directory file space and if you do not have this Java component, you will be prompted to download it. The installation is automatic and does not require that you be knowledgeable about Java or the installation process. The address to the login page is https://gwis.virginia.edu/homedir/vault/home.php.

Going to CurryDisk Once You Are Connected

Once you have successfully connected to your Home Directory space via the web interface ITC provides, you will be, by default, looking at the file structure of your own Home Directory.

You will need to switch to the CurryDisk space by using the drop-down menu provided in the upper left corner of the browser window.

CurryDisk

Selecting 'currydisk' from the drop-down menu will cause your browser to access the CurryDisk space. This may take a few seconds as the system authenticates you.

You will see the directory structure of CurryDisk and you will be able to click on directories on the left to access them. Only the directories to which you have access rights will be clickable.

Most Curry users will access the "FacultyProjects" folder.
